Govt backed bills pass in Parliament : allowing use of EVMs and voting rights to overseas Pakistanis
The PTI- led government- backed bills on Wednesday easily boated through the Parliament’s common sitting amid strong demurrers by the Opposition lawgivers. The government successfully passed emendations to the Choices Act, 2017, allowing the use of evms and giving overseas Pakistanis the right to bounce in general choices. Voting on the emendations was before remitted — after strong kick by the Opposition — at Adviser to the Prime Minister on Parliamentary Affairs Babar Awan’s request, but the government, after a while put it to bounce again.
