PM Imran Khan tests coronavirus positive

  ISLAMABAD: PM Imran Khan has tested coronavirus positive, SAPM Dr Faisal Sultan confirmed on Saturday. The SAPM said that the  prime minister imran khan  has quarantined himself at home. It is pertinent to note that PM Imran had got himself vaccinated on Thursday. Separately, PM’s aide Shahbaz Gill said the premier has mild fever and a cough. “Thank God his symptoms are not severe. May the Almighty bless him with quick recovery.” He also requested to not link the matter with vaccination as immunity  develops after  a few days. Chaudhry Sugar Mills case: Maryam’s bail can’t be suspended, says LHC

  LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has issued a written order on the application moved by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for the cancellation of PML-N Vice-President Maryam Nawaz’s bail. A two-member bench of the LHC issued the order Wednesday in response to the plea moved by NAB Chairman Justice (R) Javed Iqbal in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. The written order states that the order granting Maryam bail cannot be suspended immediately. It notes that the anti-graft watchdog claimed that despite repeatedly summoning the PML-N leader, she did not appear. The federal home secretary has been directed to file a detailed reply on NAB’s request by April 7. Earlier in the day, NAB Lahore summoned Maryam in the Chaudhry Sugar Mills case. PSL 2021: Quetta Gladiators owner says PCB to mostly blame for bio-secure bubble failure

  Quetta Gladiators owner Nadeem Omar on Wednesday said that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is to mostly blame for the failure of the PSL 2021 bio-secure bubble. “PCB chief Ehsan Mani admitted there is a lack of communication between the franchises and the cricket board,” said  Omar. The tournament was postponed earlier this month, leading to disappointment and anger among millions of sports fans across Pakistan. Will have to address three remaining points till June: FATF keeps Pakistan on the grey list

  ISLAMABAD: The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) on Thursday kept Pakistan on the grey list for another extended period till June 2021 and asked for complying with the remaining three outstanding points of a total of 27 action plans. The FATF asks Islamabad to address three remaining deficiencies related to terror-financing and effective implementation of United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Resolutions 1267 and 1373 against all designated terrorists. “Pakistan will remain on the grey list as some deficiencies still exist as out of 27 action plans, three still need to be addressed. I urge Pakistan to fully implement the action plan. GB govt to honor Ali Sadpara by establishing mountaineering school

  GILGIT: The Gilgit-Baltistan government will set up the Ali Sadpara Mountaineering School to honor one of the country’s greatest climbers who was declared dead by his family a few days ago. GB government spokesperson Ali Taj said Ali Sadpara’s son Sajid will be employed in the school that will be set up in his memory. The cabinet, which approved the establishment of the school, agreed to put forward Muhammad Ali Sadpara’s name to the  Government of Pakistan  for the country’s highest civil award.  They have also agreed to provide Rs3 million to the deceased climber’s widow. But, the Sindh government has opposed Sheikh’s launch  daniel pearl case , saying it might endanger the people. The verdict was declared on an appeal from the family of Sheikh contrary to his detention regardless of the acquittal.
