Nish Asher, a British Pakistani singer, has celebrated the success of ‘Khuda Aur Mohabbat’ OST. She sang it with Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan while she was on a London trip to Lahore.

“Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3” OST set a new record by crossing 100 million views on Geo Entertainment’s Youtube channel, ‘Har Pal Geo’ – making it the first ever Pakistani OST to cross that mark.

Since season 3, ‘Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3’ has created a lot of buzz among viewers. It premiered on January 29, 2021 and has set new records every year since.

Nish told Nish at her East London home that she is thrilled that the OST featuring her melodious voice has had such an impact on Pakistan’s cultural scene. Nish was in Lahore visiting her family during the second phase lockdown, when Ustad Rahat Ali Khan offered her the chance to meet her.

She stated that she met Ustad Rahat as both a fan, and follower. I was shocked when he asked me to sing the song. Although I was under immense pressure, I managed to do it. I tried my best to meet the expectations of Rahat Fateh Al Khan. It just happened. It happened without planning.”

Nish Asher, 22, is now back in London teaching singing at a local high school. She has decided to take a break from her studies and focus fully on her studies. Nish said that she was grateful to Naveed Nahad and Qamar Nowshad, who gave her the opportunity to sing with Ahmed Jehanzaib and Bhaga, among others. She collaborates with many English and Pakistani artists, as well as the BBC Asian Network.
