Mahnoor, Nadia or Shaista: An ode to ombré

KARACHI: Clothing may be your last concern in these uncertain times but these divas’ ombré sarees will make you want to splurge on them too. From Mahnoor Baloch to Mahira Khan, sarees are our eternal favorites. Add to that some classic ombré hues and you’ve got desi beauty on lock.

Designers like Nomi Ansari, Menahel Mehreen and many others have included these fashion staples this year. Here are a few of our favourite looks:

Mahnoor Baloch

The Ladies Park actor is not only known for her youthful appearance but also, the fashion statements she’s been making since the 90s. Last year, Baloch donned a haltered green-blue ombré saree by Menahel Mehreen that earned her ample praise. She complimented the attire with a two-toned embellished clutch, sleekly parted hair, and diamond jewelry.

Nadia Khan

Soon after tying the knot for a second time, TV show host and actor Nadia Khan made news in the same silk saree but from designer Rozina Munib. She paired the turquoise-blue hued saree with a black high-neck blouse and a chunky choker necklace with lightly curled hair and evening makeup. The actor and host posed along husband, looking like a million bucks.

Shaista Lodhi

Versatile morning show host and doctor, name a thing Shaista Lodhi can’t do. She also carried a turquoise-blue ombré saree but with a different, traditional cobalt blue blouse complemented by a sleek hair bun, smokey eye makeup, and classy, long champagne earrings. Fans showered the host with love as she makes a fashion statement on Instagram.
